Tanev is starting to look a lot like Sopel.

Thanks Carol.

I didn't see the game last night for the most part was at an XMAS party but every once in awhile in this lovely game of hockey we love (and critisise) so much something happens that just impresses the hell out of me.

Hockey is truly unique. It really is the only professional sport to have the honor/integrity and 'code' that many believe doesn't exist.

I am referring to the Dorsett/Engelland fight yesterday night. I just caught Carol's highlights and it was so good to see Engelland wrap his arm around Dorsett's head before he fell to save him from a head-bashing on the ice. That to me is respect code and honor. I realise that the league is full of cheap shot artists and alot of that 'code' has exited the game since the instigator rule came in but still...that was impressive.

Good on you Engelland for showing the honor and intregrity that many NHL players adhere to and deserve. Well done.

You know, I laughed at the Englelland signing. But after seeing him save Dorsetts a$$ last night. He worth ever dollar for being a savagely awesome human being.

That was impressive.

Aaron Asham, Take notice. Instead of mocking someone whos knocked out how about preventing it.

Sucks being an unsigned FA doesnt it?

Chara isn't that untouchable. He's still a useful and effective top pair D but he's getting old. If the Bruins want to win now he's untouchable. If they are keeping an eye on the future they might see it differently. NTC clause could make it a moot point.

Highly doubt they move any of Bergeron/Krejci/Chara/Hamilton/Rask anytime soon.

I said the same thing in the last thread. I can see maybe Luc and/or Marchand being moved.

Krejci and Bergeron I would Imagine are untouchable.

Yup.

I doubt it's gonna be a blockbuster if they do make a deal. I'd imagine names like Matthias, Higgins, Kassian, Gaunce/Jensen are being discussed from the Canucks end. And guys like Spooner, Krug, Bartkowski from Boston.

I know Krugs name has been mentioned. But if were looking to deal One of Kass, Burr, or Higgy. We aint getting him without a high draft pick with it.

Boston can't take on Burrows or Higgins salaries without sending more salary back.

Edit: plus Boston has as many NTCs as the Canucks. I just don't see it happening the way people would want.

Yeah I think the Canucks would add to that deal, he does play pretty easy minutes in Boston though so I wouldn't pay a premium for a guy who has to be sheltered.

For Boston to shed salary, they would have to add to Krug. He doesnt really make much... is shedding a small salary worth moving a young player? Hard to imagine there is any savings if players go to Boston for Krug alone. I wont be happy to see any picks leaving either. Not in a question mark season.
